Remember to run your car regularly to avoid a flat battery

This is a timely reminder to turn over your car engines every week/fortnight to avoid having a flat battery.

Just leave it running for about 15 minutes, but don't leave it unattended... we know a couple of apocryphal stories of people who had their cars stolen this way!

If by any chance you've forgotten and the battery is flat, you can call out your car breakdown service... Or if you're a kind resident with some jump leads and a bit of spare time, please let the Hub know... we're sure there'll be a taker or two for your services.

What has become the HemingfordHub was first proposed in 2017 as a test case for how lonely or isolated people in the village could be supported by the community care sector and NHS. The Hub was recognised as a community group and received funding in November 2019. Just as the team was preparing to launch the Hub, Covid-19 happened..

As well as committee members, we now have more than 100 volunteers supporting both villages. If you would like to join them to help during the Covid-19 pandemic or in other ways, please get in touch.
