About HemingfordHub and the Good Neighbour Scheme
HemingfordHub is a community initiative run by local people, offering support and friendship for the elderly, parents who may be struggling, those with disabilities and anyone wanting a little company.
Maybe that's you. Or maybe you would like to help others in our community.
Everybody needs good neighbours
Would you, or someone you know, enjoy a friendly chat occasionally? Would you like the security of knowing that there's someone local who can offer help with everyday tasks you can't quite manage (like a dropped jar that you can’t get down to clean up)?
Would you like help with filling in forms? Perhaps you'd like to use email or WhatsApp or get to grips with a new phone, iPad or computer to contact your family and friends, but the mysteries of technology seem to defeat you?
New to the village? Would you like to make contact with a friendly face or two? Are you a new parent or a carer who would really appreciate some extra help?
Have you lost touch with friends, and sometimes feel a bit lonely?
HemingfordHub can offer this sort of support and help, from changing a light bulb to running errands – even just being a friendly face to chat with over a cup of tea.
Befrienders
For all enquiries, including registering for support or volunteering, contact us at:
Telephone: 07308 035416
You can help us. We need befrienders to visit or phone those we want to help.
We'd like to hear from people with a bit of spare time and a range of backgrounds and interests. Age isn't important. And the amount of time you want to give is entirely up to you.
If the idea of back-to-basics, friendly neighbourliness appeals to you, please get in touch.
