The Hub springs into action for Covid-19

The Hemingford Hub was created to help support our vibrant community and connect with those that may need a little extra help - particularly now..

Thanks to our army of volunteers, every home in both villages should have received a leaflet from Hemingford Hub (HH) explaining how we can help those self-isolating, either because they are over 70 or in response to advice over their medical history.

Each Hub volunteer delivered leaflets in their local area and took the opportunity to knock on doors to ask residents if they needed help with errands. Our volunteers have now reported back and we are working through everyone's requests.

They will contact you again in due course. If they visit you they will stand two metres from your doorstep to ask how often and when you may need their services or deliveries. Rest assured we will look after your contact details.

If you missed the visit and would like support, or maybe you have thought of something that the Hub can help you with, please get in touch.

What has become the Hemingford Hub was first proposed in 2017 as a test case for how lonely or isolated people in the village could be supported by the community care sector and NHS. The Hub was recognised as a community group and received funding in November 2019. Just as the team was preparing to launch the Hub, Covid-19 happened..

As well as committee members, we now have more than 100 volunteers supporting both villages. If you would like to join them to help during the Covid-19 pandemic or in other ways, please get in touch.
