Scrubs: NHS front line workers need YOU!

‘Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough for the love of scrubs sub group’

The Hemingfords have joined forces with this group to support their efforts in making much needed scrubs, hats and scrub bags for front line health workers in our area.

Full details can be seen on their Facebook page at Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough for the love of scrubs – subgroup We are looking for volunteers from the Hemingfords to: - cut out scrubs, hats and bags (patterns available but can also be downloaded) - sew - donate clean materials particularly duvet covers, sheets - make a financial donation for the purchase of materials - deliver/collect within the villages The results of your efforts will be taken to the local St Ives hub from where they will be distributed to where they are needed most on a particular day. At the moment there is a desperate need in the Joint Emergency Therapy Team (Jett). This team intercept and support ambulance calls.  What has become the Hemingford Hub was first proposed in 2017 as a test case for how lonely or isolated people in the village could be supported by the community care sector and NHS. The Hub was recognised as a community group and received funding in November 2019. Just as the team was preparing to launch the Hub, Covid-19 happened..

As well as committee members, we now have more than 100 volunteers supporting both villages. If you would like to join them to help during the Covid-19 pandemic or in other ways, please get in touch.
